Obedience Training

IN-HOME TRAINING

This program is designed for owners who want to improve specific skills and/or general obedience with their dogs. This program is offered to the city of Sulphur, Louisiana and surrounding area by Austynn Harbison.

What behaviors are to be expected to be gained from program?

Every program is centralized to the goals of the clients needs which will be designed for the specific goals wanted from the handler.

POTENTIAL SKILLS & BEHAVIORS

Recall

The dog returns to the handler when given the cue to return.

Loose Leash Walking

The dog walks at a pace set by the owner where the leash remains loose in their hands.

Impulse Control

The dog is able to remain neutral when different distractions are present.

Settle on Mat

The dog sits or lays down on a mat and is able to relax.

Retrieve to Hand

The dog retrieves different items to hand on cue in multiple environments.

Traditional Behaviors

The dog is taught how to perform a variety of behaviors such as sit, lay, stay, etc.

Crate Training

The dog settles inside of a crate for appropriate lengths of time.

Swimming

The dog learns how to swim confidently in multiple waters and vegetation.

In home private lessons to give owners the tools and resource to reach their obedience goals with their dogs.

What are the requirements for the obedience program?

The program requires dogs to be a minimum of 16 weeks of age. Proof of appropriate vaccinations are required for enrollment. This includes DHPP vaccinations, Rabies vaccination, and heartworm prevention of owners preference. Females in season are allowed for the program but will be withheld from swimming lessons until safely out of season.
